CD Replication
Replication refers to Pressed CD (Compact Disc).
First ABCD & DVD LTD produce a Glass master from supplied source. Then we create a metal stamper that we use to actually press the CDs (Compact Disc).
For replication projects, the first thing we do is a “bit test” on your supplied master to make sure that there are no errors. Your supplied master might very well play in your DVD player but can contain errors which will be detected during this test.
Generally this approach is adopted for high volumes but recommended for all replication projects.
How a CD is pressed/replicated:
CD Duplication
CD Duplication is the process of transferring digital information onto blank DVD-R directly from a CD-R source. It is also known as CD burning or CD copying.
The end result of CD duplication is a disc which performs in exactly the same way as the original or master disc.
Generally duplication is quicker and more appropriate for smaller to medium sized projects.
For larger runs it may be better to replicate (CD replication) rather than duplicate.
